I have been torn down to the roots.
You wormed through the bark
and ate away at my meat
and bones.
I am without color
in the dark.

I burn.

What was me crackles
and smolders
into greasy
That isn’t needed-
is not

I am at the beginning.
I am all the colors
that can be see and
not seen.
And I will
And I will do it
without you.

Hi Kumquat! Your poem is deeply honest and feeling, which is something I appreciate. Also, I really enjoy the snow flakes that are drifting downward on your blog. A very festive, aesthetically appealing addition to your page. =)
